English 10 / English 10 Honors
Happy Monday, Saxons! I am so thankful I get to work with you today and this week, albeit virtually. Be safe, and make sure to email me with questions on your assignments, okay? Check Teams regularly; I will continue to post information and assignments there. In fact, eventually I will make the transition from here to Teams completely. For now, though, I will continue to post key information and assignments in both places. For example, students in periods 1 & 2 may access the latest vocab list here and begin working on it immediately. Mrs. Jacobson has created a Quizlet as well, which is here as well as in Teams.
Period 3, meanwhile, will continue to work through A Tale of Two Cities with the study questions posted here and in Teams.
Have a great day, everyone!

How do your experiences influence your interests and activities? How does literature reflect and influence your culture? We'll explore such questions this year in English 10 (Honors) to develop your reading, writing and thinking skills. As we do that, we'll also prepare you for the Smarter Balanced Assessment, the PSATs and the SATs, which you will need for college.
A lot of our work will come from the College Board's curricular framework SpringBoard Level 5. You may want to familiarize yourself with it as soon as possible.
Also, please know that I will make every effort to help you succeed in this class. To that end, I encourage you to come in for extra help before school or after school. You may also e-mail me with any questions about class.
Finally, as a matter of fairness to other students, I expect all students to attend class daily and turn in work on time in order to have a chance at full credit. If you face an emergency and absolutely cannot make it to class, please let me know as soon as possible.
I look forward to working with you this year!
